Information on feeding raw/wet food to a cat and tips on how to transition from a kibble diet to wet/raw food.

Happy Sunday!

Today let's talk about why feeding a wet/raw diet to a cat is so important.

Cat's are in a constant state of dehydration so, when feeding kibble to a cat, they have to drink about 1 cup of water per 10lbs of body weight in a 24hr period, in warmer weather they have to almost double that amount. Unfortunately, cat's are not designed to drink water out of a bowl like dogs. Cat's rely completely on their diet to get the moisture they need.

--Most cats on kibble become overweight due to carbohydrates,
fats, and other additives that cat's wouldn't naturally eat.

--Cat's are also more prone to diabetes, thyroid issues, kidney
problems and liver failure when on kibble.

--Raw or wet food can keep your cat's system healthy and
keep them at their natural weight.

It can be hard to switch a cat completely to wet or raw, but simply mixing it to their diet or placing the wet food next to their normal kibble each day can get them used to eating it.
